Tapestria Docs
Design notes, world lore, and architecture for Tapestria — an AI-narrated, shared-world tabletop RPG. Written in the open while the game is being built.
These docs are the build-in-public counterpart to the devlog. The devlog is chronological — what happened this week. The docs are durable — what the game is, how its world is shaped, and how the systems behind it work.
Sections
- Architecture — how the engine works. The knowledge graph, the deterministic D&D 5e rules core, the LLM pipeline (parse → engine → narrate → aftermath), and why each piece is where it is.
- Mechanics — design rationale. What "shared persistent world" actually means in practice, how information propagates between NPCs, how quests emerge from world state instead of from a quest board, why combat is deterministic and dialogue is not.
Following along
- The devlog publishes weekly. Subscribe via RSS or join the waitlist to hear about alpha access.
- Each docs page will, over time, link out to the devlog posts that expand on it — and vice versa.
- The community Discord is at discord.gg/9PPtkHFNJ. That's where I answer questions about the parts the docs don't cover yet.
